I was watching Espn 2 last night getting pumped about this upcoming NASCAR season, and I can't hardly go anywhere anymore without hearing people whine about our so called economic hardship. We are no where near a recession. I admit, times are hard for some of us folks right now. A lot of the downfall is a result of the media. For the past year they've been shoving down our throats that there's trouble ahead everywhere. The media keeps reporting bad news over and over again. People freak out and stop shopping, taking valued vacations, and cut back on a lot of expenses which has hurt the retail and travel industry. I went to a job interview last week and I wanted to cringe so bad because the branch manager just kept going on and on about how trouble is ahead and she believes that we haven't hit rock bottom yet and it's only going to get worse before it gets better. I'm tired of hearing about this. Look around. Career Builder has jobs listed online. I see a lot of places in my area still hiring. The Tulsa World newspaper has layoffs from companies plastered all over the front of the newspapers, yet they have a classifieds section in the back that has a lot of job listings, plus more on their website. Pretty contradicting isn't it. I would like to tell some of these reporters to shove it. All they're doing is putting people in fear. They are all LIARS! Stop listening to them. It's sad that I can't even hardly watch my favorite sport on TV or listen to the radio without hearing someone refer to the economy. God is our source. Not our jobs or the stock market. Not President Obama's "magical" stimulus package. If you have a job and you're still driving your souped up Lexus and carrying around your $1000 designer purses and living in these lavish mansions that are in gated communities, be thankful for what you have, shut up, and stop pretending like you care. |
